Berwick's Spring CleanUp

April 17-24, 2021

Be a part of the BerwickCleanup2021 challenge and help us meet (and beat) our goal to clean up 2000 pieces of trash!

• Download the free Litterati app and create an account.

• Enter code 03901-21 to join the challenge.

• Take photos of the trash items you pick up around town to have them counted toward our goal.



• Share the challenge with your Berwick friends and neighbors and inspire them to get involved.

Trash bags can be picked up at the Town Hall inside the entrance. Once you’ve filled ‘em up:

• Bring to the transfer station on the days it is open (Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays from 8am-4pm).



• You can also leave the bags on the side of the road and register at       tinyurl.com/berwickcleanup2021 to have Public Works come pick them up.

For everyone’s safety and comfort, here are some tips to help you have a successful cleanup:

• Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. Sturdy shoes or   boots are a good idea.



• Bring a buddy if you can, and choose a time of day when weather is suitable and traffic isn’t heavy in the area you plan to go collecting. Please stick to daylight hours if possible. 



• Don’t touch the litter directly. We recommend latex, rubber, or work/gardening gloves. Tongs or trash pickers are great tools to use as well. Stick some hand sanitizer in your pocket just in case!



• Kiddos make great helpers, but please make sure they stay safe and off the road. 



• If you are gathering trash with a small group, please adhere to all CDC guidelines. Mask up and stay socially distanced.  



• Bring your phone. You’ll need it for the Litterati challenge so you can take photos of your collected trash. Assign one person to handle trash pickup and the other to capture the pictures for the app.  



• After your cleanup, make sure to wash your hands right away and disinfect all the reusable equipment that was used during your cleanup.
